Research Interests:
Giacomo is interested in investigating extreme rainfall events and their evolution in relationship with climate change. During his MS thesis he collaborated with the University of South Carolina to analyze changes in rainfall patterns across South and North Carolina during the last century. He is currently working on a NASA funded project aiming to understand the role of land use change associated with urbanization in dictating the occurrence and characteristics of extreme events.
